WHAT IS UNM-TAOS HIVE?
UNM-Taos HIVE is a coworking space and small business support center with onsite UNM-Taos classes.
The UNM-Taos Hub of Internet-based Vocation and Education (HIVE) offers an individualized learning journey for those interested in working online or becoming an entrepreneur. Our “hive” environment combines small business coaching and mentorship, a coworking space, and community college classrooms to support any stage of learning in an accepting, accessible, and community-led atmosphere.
HIVE’s award-winning design received the grand prize at the Minds that Move Us competition, was recognized by Digital Promise for innovation, and was chosen to be a part of the national Rural Innovation Initiative.

Are you interested in finding a career where you can work from any location or from our coworking space? UNM-Taos HIVE can help you find a job and gain the necessary credentials to work online as a programmer, editor, manager, graphic designer, and more.
Business owners & those seeking to launch a new business
Dreaming of opening a small business? Do you have a small business and need help taking it to the next level? UNM-Taos HIVE provides small business coaching, mentorship, and access to specific training opportunities to boost your business skills. Want to grow your brand? HIVE can help guide and connect you to the right companies and distribution channels.
Community college & adult education students
UNM-Taos HIVE is open to individuals at all levels and will support you every step of the way. Register for one of our many classes to improve your business, digital, or professional skills. We offer everything from simple one-credit skills improvement courses to full certificates and associate's degrees that will support you to be successful in an entrepreneurial or online career. Didn’t graduate from high school? You can get your High School Equivalency and enroll in our college classes at the same time!

Coworking Space
Our coworking space, FatPipe Taos, is for everyone: people just starting out, independent consultants, established small business owners—if you need desk space or a conference room, you’re welcome here!
Credentials and Certifications
UNM-Taos offers onsite classrooms where you can gain your credentials that will help you in an online or small business career. You can also concurrently enroll at Taos Education & Career Center (TECC) at UNM-Taos to gain your High School Equivalency while you are working on your college degree.
Small Business Support
Our onsite supportive services office provides a safe place for coaching and advising, as well as access to education and small business resources to help you get started. UNM-Taos HIVE offers shared professional development for all clients, students, and staff.
